How To Stop My Procrastination
This week I decided to read “Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time” by Brian Tracy, this book is filled with honest truth we need to beat procrastination in our lives.
I will be discussing:
1. Focus & Prioritizing Is Key
2. Avoiding The Inevitable
3. Determined To Get It Done
And be sure to read my last blog on “Book Review: Giving With A Gracious Heart” & “FREE Download: December Desktop Wallpapers”.
If I could some up this book into one word it would have to be the word Punctual: completing or doing something at the agreed or proper time; on time.
1. Focus & Prioritizing Is Key
In order to focus and prioritize what is most important, you must first stop thinking multi-tasking is allowing you to complete things. When in reality it just makes you look busy instead of completing an actual task and especially the quality of it.
Try using time blocking to effectively execute your tasks one after another so that you focus and complete your tasks with mistakes or distractions. This will allow you not only to feel better but be more fulfilled and satisfied with what you have completed in a day.
2. Avoiding The Inevitable
Doing your hardest task first in your day or even before 12pm can reduce your amount of stress and anxiety you may face. By refusing to do your most challenging task you are slowly increasing the number of times you will procrastinate on your tasks in the future.
The rest of your tasks will seem smaller overall, we all have something we are required to do. But once we get them completed we are opening up our day to do what we actually enjoy. Or you may struggle with just getting started and need to build up momentum so you should start with your easiest task first. And then scouring your to-do list for your next easiest task and simply knocking them out throughout the day.
3. Determined To Get It Done
In order to get more done in your day, we must first look at what is sucking up all of our time. Breaking up large tasks or goals into smaller pieces that typically have shorter gains that allow us to slowly complete the goal.
Have a system of an organization on where to store these projects and to-do lists, so that you can update it frequently. Being able to say no to things that are not important today or even to your life.
Would I Buy Or Read Again?
Can I see myself re-reading Brian Tracy’s book “Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time” again? YES! Can I see myself even purchasing “Eat That Frog!: 21 Great Ways to Stop Procrastinating and Get More Done in Less Time”? Yes, Brian Tracy is able to give you the honest truth and allow you to look inward so that you have no other choice but to improve your life.
