Giving With A Gracious Heart

This week I decided to read “The Power of Blessing” by Kerry Kirkwood, this book allows us to find the power in blessing others and the ones we receive.

I will be discussing:

1. Living A Blessed Life

2. Blessings Are Not Just About Materialism

3. Find Redemption In Blessing Others

If I could some up this book into one word it would have to be the word Blessed: endowed with divine favor and protection.

1. Living A Blessed Life

A blessed life requires us to maneuver the realm of abundance and to claim responsibility for our actions and attitude. It requires us to manage how energy flows, abundance is all around us, so when we give we should not feel like we are losing.

Simply because a blessing is on the way back to us because we were able to give freely and without hesitation. God wants to bless you and he also wants to use you to bless others around you. And if God is in everything—“by him all things consist” (Colossians 1:17)—we know that where He is there is provision, freedom, joy, healing, and whatever you need.

2. Blessings Are Not Just About Materialism

A blessing can be much more than material things, it can be your time, the relationships you build and supporting someone’s hobby or change of career. Start with the little things give a compliment to a stranger, apologize to someone you got angry with.

Pay for the coffee for the person behind you, the point is a blessing can look like anything really. If you think hard enough and commit to giving to others.

3. Find Redemption In Blessing Others

Sometimes the best way to change how people treat you is to bless them and to walk in love. Instead of being so quick to think of an insult the moment you see them, now this isn’t that easy to overcome but it is possible.

This is something I am currently working on to overcome especially during this holiday season with my family that usually “welcomes” me with insults and arguments. Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing (1 Peter 3:9 NIV).

Would I Buy Or Read Again?

Can I see myself re-reading Kerry Kirkwood’s book “The Power of Blessing” again? YES! Can I see myself even purchasing “The Power of Blessing”? No, it was a good read I just don’t think I could see myself purchasing this for my personal library.

The Question of the Week is inspired by Kerry Kirkwood’s book “The Power of Blessing”. How do you create powerful blessings?

Answer: By being humble enough to know what I give may seem small to me but can be significant to someone else.

If you have any book suggestions add them below in the comments, and look out for new book reviews every Sunday. And remember “As we ‘Rise to Be’, we are becoming who we want to be” I am Christina B. Rising and I will always be rising. 🤗
