This week I decided to read “Do What Feels Good” by Hannah Bronfman, this book is packed with so much relatable advice and information for anyone who wants to better there health.
I will be discussing:
1. Step Into Your Own Marathon
2. Don’t Be Hard On Yourself
3. Keep Your Workouts Interesting
And be sure to read my last blog on “Book Review: How To Eat Like A Human” & “FREE Download: August 2019 Motivational Quote Desktop Wallpapers”.
If I could some up this book into one word it would have to be the word Nutrition: the process of providing or obtaining the food necessary for health and growth.
1. Step Into Your Own Marathon
Create a big fitness goal for yourself and break that goal into bite-sized pieces so that you can gain momentum and barrier against quitting. Find a way to track this or using a visual of what you want your fitness goal to look like so that you can keep getting closer to your goal.
Get specific and set a time frame so that you can’t make excuses for yourself to start tomorrow, which is definitely something I constantly struggle with. But I do know when I create a plan for myself and a way to slide it into my schedule it's hard for me to come up with excuses. And as the excuses disappear you will start to crave challenges bigger than the ones you just defeated.
2. Don’t Be Hard On Yourself
People who begin a new exercise program usually quit it within less than a year. Simply because they have a hard time keeping up with the restrictions or boot-camp paced workouts instead of easing into it.
Don’t expect to have overnight muscles it truly takes patience and consistency to truly see the results you want. Begin your workouts on your level, not the level you want to be, you will eventually get stronger and have better endurance.
3.Keep Your Workouts Interesting
Keep your workouts interesting so you won’t give up on your goals try different locations so that your body can adjust to new elevations and terrain. Try focusing on different muscle groups on different days, or seeing a personal trainer to create a plan for your exact body type and overall health.
If you often do your workouts on machines then try switching up the order of machines you go on, if you tend to warm up on the elliptical try doing it on the stair climber instead. Change is good but you shouldn't try to reinvent the wheel with every workout you do, but you should always be open to trying new workouts.
Would I Buy Or Read Again?
Can I see myself re-reading Hannah Bronfman’s book “Do What Feels Good” again? Yes! Can I see myself even purchasing “Do What Feels Good”? Yes, because this book can help me to not judge myself on my health journey.
The Question of the Week is inspired by Hannah Bronfman’s book “Do What Feels Good”. Do you often ‘do what feels good’ with your health?
Answer: I try to but I’m not always as perfect as would like to be.
