Happy Father's Day! This week I decided to read “People Tools For Business” by Alan C. Fox, this book is advice on so many topics I fell as though I am getting 3 books in one.
I will be discussing:
1. Success Doesn’t Equal Perfection
2. Building Wealth For Tomorrow
3. Maintaining Your Peace & Happiness
And be sure to read my last blog on “Book Review: How To Become A Real Adult” & “FREE Download: June Desktop Wallpapers”.
If I could some up this book into one word it would have to be the word Useful: able to be used for a practical purpose or in several ways.
1. Success Doesn’t Equal Perfection
Although success doesn’t happen overnight, does not mean that the journey will be easy. You are going to have setbacks, sacrifices and frustrate you, but you have to remember the reason you started so you can keep going.
Form a strategy and a clear vision to achieve the goal you have in mind. Always have an updated resume you never know when your new opportunity will present itself.
Start to work on your skills and certifications in your industry, don’t pity yourself for only having a beginner set. Instead focus on creating a schedule to master these skills faster, so that you can have success in your life.
2. Building Wealth For Tomorrow
Once you understand the difference between rich and wealth, you will immediately want to build wealth in your life. Wealth is happiness, prosperity in abundance and building a legacy for generations. But being rich mainly focuses on having abundant possessions and especially material wealth.
Start by automating your savings instead of putting it off, cut off NSF fees on your checking accounts to avoid paying overdraft fees. Lower your standard of living and use that money to start investing in your retirement and your future.
This doesn’t mean you can’t have fun, check out free activities in your area, you would be surprised how many activities and events there is every weekend. When choosing your life partner always try to keep in mind that their bad credit and lack of money can affect your score and the entire relationship.
3. Maintaining Your Peace & Happiness
As you transform into who you want to be it will be hard to keep up hope, especially when those you know only want to bring up your past mistakes. It’s best to acknowledge it and tell them that you are working to move forward.
One way I’m able to keep focused on my goals and where I want to be in life is by writing Daily Affirmations daily. By focusing on the 10 most important things in my life and things I aspire to be, making sure to start each affirmation with “I am” in the present tense.
We often feel stressed about things that are mandatory in our lives but when we shift that focus to who want to be and what we would want to do our mood instantly changes. Now I’m not saying to ignore your priorities but when they are completed use that free time to focus on your self.
Self-care is so important, stress and drama are not only just bad for your life but bad for your health. By doing this you will instantly have peace, feel better, and of course, leveling up to where you want to be because you are using energy wisely.
Would I Buy Or Read Again?
Can I see myself re-reading Alan C. Fox’s book “People Tools For Business” again? Yes! Can I see myself even purchasing “People Tools For Business” ? No, because although this is a great book I feel like a lot of the advice can be found online.
The Question of the Week is inspired by Alan C. Fox’s book “People Tools For Business”. What ‘People Tools’ do you use in business?
Answer: Communicating effectively whether its in person or through email to ensure everyone is on the same page.
