8 Reasons to Love and Hate Game Of Thrones
This week I decided to read “Game of Thrones” by George R. R. Martin, I’m excited about the next season but I have to say I’m sad for the end. Here a list on how the character, the HBO show have changed, and what if the books are worth reading.
I will be discussing:
1. Aria Stark
2. Strong Female Leads
3. Arya Stark
4.Diversity Drought
5. Brienne of Tarth
6. Bigger Budget, Better Scenes
7. Elaborate Costumes
8. Olenna Tyrell

If I could some up this book into one word it would have to be the word Throned: place (someone) on a throne.
1. Daenerys Targaryen
This woman’s strength can’t be unbroken, she continues to strive for what she wants.
But she wasn’t always like this, and through watching this show I appreciate watching her grow. Daenerys was sold by her own brother to a man that didn’t even speak the same language as her, and losing that man and their unborn child.
And then rising from the ashes with 3 powerful dragons, elevating her as a true leader instead of a scared girl.
2. Strong Female Leads
Even with the extreme amounts of female nudity throughout the show, I still appreciate that there are still so many strong female leads.
Who all have their own way of doing things and don’t just strive to get married in life.
But strive to change the way they are treated and also other women like them.
3. Arya Stark
This character has faced a lot throughout her life but she continues to push forward.
You may not agree that she strives to get revenge for the ones she loves and even wanted to train as an assassin.
Her resilience should be admired by going undercover as a boy and to redefine what it means to be a woman.
4. Diversity Drought
Although I love this show I have been waiting for this show to have more diverse characters since we are at the end of the series.
It looks as though my wish won’t be granted, I understand I have Khal Drogo, Oberyn Martell, Grey Worm, and Missandei; but only the dark complexion characters are in the background.
But they have all played a small role in the overall show, Missandei and Grey Worm’s love story to forever to blossom. Except all of these characters have a light skin tone and but represent a group of people with varying skin tones. I’m not the only person that has noticed this as a viewer yet it isn’t being talked about majorly.
5. Brienne of Tarth
I love everything this woman stands for, she is determined to break barriers for women, especially during this time period.
She inspired me the same way she inspired Aria Stark, and I love she doesn’t give up. This character is important, she represents the same issues even women of today face, simply because she decided to pursue a masculine career.
And is often being called a lesbian simply because she is tall, smart and a great sword fighter.
6. Bigger Budget,
Better Scenes
The show has grown over the years and so has the number of fans, and because of that the shows special effects are not as basic.
When Eddard Stark’s head was cut off that scene was shot so strangely, and I can only guess it's like this because of the budget which is why the head looked like a Halloween decoration.
Which is why the biggest battle scene on film will be on this great show, so even those that don’t know the characters are bound to tune in.
7. Elaborate Costumes
The costumes of the show allows you to be immersed deeper with each episode you watch from everything to the armor to the massive fur coats of the Knights Watch.
I’ve always adored the elaborate attire that Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen and even her seamless wig.
I only wish that Cercisi’s wig were better in the show, both the long one and the short one where she was disgraced throughout the city.
8. Olenna Tyrell
I will forever love this character, she plays a big role behind the scenes.
Her love for her family drives her to keep going, although we lost her a few seasons ago I still miss her wit.
This woman was willing to kill her own granddaughter’s fiance just to keep her safe and showed absolutely no remorse.
Would I Buy Or Read Again?
Can I see myself re-reading George R. R. Martin’s book “Game of Thrones” again? No! Can I see myself even purchasing “Game of Thrones”? No, I feel that even though I love this series it isn’t necessary, the pace of the story bores me. I think will just have to hold the Game of Thrones reruns close to my heart, it's still a great story I just won’t open the book again.
The Question of the Week is inspired by George R. R. Martin’s book “Game of Thrones”. Have you unlocked you Power with money & finances?
Answer: I have to say yes, I try not to waste money on things that don't matter and creating new streams of income.
